Land Management That Actually Works
Healthy beef starts with healthy land. Wellborn 2R practices rotational grazing — moving cattle through different sections of pasture on a regular cycle, letting each section rest and recover before the herd returns. This keeps native grasses strong, prevents overgrazing, reduces soil compaction, and maintains water retention through a dry North Texas summer.
Mesquite control is part of the regular work. Mesquite is invasive in Texas rangeland and competes aggressively with native grasses for water. We clear it selectively — removing what's encroaching on productive pasture, leaving mature trees where they provide shade without doing damage.
The land is the foundation. If the pasture is healthy, the cattle are healthy. If the cattle are healthy, the beef is exceptional. It all connects.
